If u are looking for a golden glow from a tanning bed then u might have to think now as it is going to cost more now. The glow has gone expensive as US  government  has imposed a 10% tax on ultra violet indoor sessions of tanning under the section of federal reform bills. It is expected that this 10% tax will generate a huge currency of about $ 2.7 billion in the next ten years. Tanning bed tax has been imposed after a report from IARC which says that tanning beds are really harmful for the skin. Their deadly nature can be compared to arsenic and mustard gas. Tanning beds have increased the level of cancer risk to the maximum. People falling under the age group of 30 using tannin g beds have the risk upto 75% says the report from IARC.

The use of sunbeds is carcinogenic in nature and it causes harmful effects. Diseases like melanoma of the eye and melanoma of the skin are known to be caused if regular sessions of tanning bed are taken. However ,  masses have shown mixed opinion on  newly proposed tanning bed tax. Some feel that imposing tax on tanning bed sessions is a healthy intiative taken by the government while others consider it as a ridiculous move naming it as extremely prejudice tax. This has been attributed to the fact that on one hand tanning is considered to be harmful while on the other hand it is considered to be an effective treatment for acne and psoriasis.

 For the lowest ranged monthly session for a month, customers will be charged an additional amount of $ 4.50. There is a feeling of disgust in American people as they find tanning bed tax unnecessary. The government should rather impose tax on fast food prices as American people are the biggest sufferers of obesity. An average customer pays $ 15 to $ 20 per visit of the salon. The tanning bed tax will be applied on electronic appliances designed for  tanning like ultra violet lamps of wavelength in between 200 and 400 nanometers. It has been estimated that approximately more than 9000 jobs and 1000 salons are at risk of closing down. However, dermatologists , doctors and people associated with health care services find this step as a healthy beginning for the masses of United states of America.
